yes, hello.
can you start a blog quietly? i'm intrigued by this method of communication. it seems there's hubris in this, assuming there are folks out there who will read what i have to say. i'll try and post pretty pictures from time to time. keep your interest. just so you knwo what you're getting into, i'm dawn. a twenty-six-year-old scrapbook artist from new york. i have three parents and five siblings (a story for another time, folks, i'm trying to start a blog here!), two cats and a dog who lives at my mom's house. i'm a reader of every book i can get my hands on (genres of particular interest: feminist history, fairy tales, young adult novels, poetry as fiction, queer theory, memoirs, cultural criticism,oh forget it. i read everything, ok?). i wrote a book in college, but i have halted just short of declaring it "finished" enough to publish or even try to publish. it's a good damn book. currently marinated. mre on that later. my day job is being the manager of an LSS (local scrapbook store) and teaching lots and lots of classes there. i love many things about my job, but i'm often overwhelmed. i am on a path of my own creation, something of a first in my story. incidentally, my life story reads like the script of an after-school special. i ain't writing the whole damn thing here, not right now. you'll get it piece by piece. theme by theme, rant by rant, chapter by chapter. in photographs, essays, journal entries, novel chapters. this is how you will learn my story. it's rather a lot to take in, i am.
